Good day, everyone!
Yes, you may remember me as the eighteen year old who married a millionaire twice my age and as a Titanic passenger.
I was born on June 19th, 1893 in Brooklyn, New York. I married the wonderful John Jacob Astor VI in Beechwood, his family's home, and was subject to considerable scandal and gossip after the marriage due to my age. We honeymooned in Egypt and Europe, and I left in a rather "delicate" condition, so to speak. Because I wanted my child born in the United States, I boarded the R.M.S Titanic in 1912 as a first-class passenger. As you all know, the ship suffered a dreadful strike from an iceberg. I, however, escaped possible death by boarding Lifeboat 4; J.J, unfortunately, did not make it, and went down with the ship. My last memory of the sinking was of my Airedale terrior, Kitty, pacing about the deck.
It's still such a difficult event to discuss with others. And out of curiosity, is J.J by any chance roaming about here?
