“Get out” Raven pushed the bathroom door shut hard in Victor’s face.
“Dammit Raven!” What was wrong with her now they had gotten the mail in town this morning and two seconds after reading a letter she was shut up in the bathroom. “What the hell is wrong?”
“Nothing” was her reply.
Victor knew who all too well, he knew something was wrong, he could break this down this door and be in there and they both knew it.
On the other side of the door, she was thinking the same thing; she wondered how long she had before he broke the door. It’s not that she wanted to be alone it was more that she didn’t want him to see her like this. This wasn’t her, she was strong and she didn’t cry. At this moment she was far from that, she was ready to let go of those tears and for the first time in many years she wanted someone to hold her. “Stay out”
Her last words came out shaky and full of tears and pain, Victor cringed she never sounded like this. Using his body weight he pushed against the door, splintering it and pulling it from the hinges. Raven looked up at him, “I told you to stay out” She muttered, “You don’t listen very well”
“What happened?” He asked and she handed him a letter, he scanned over it, a letter from Rogue telling her mother she wanted nothing to do with her and she’d never forgive her. No wonder Raven was so shaken; she had really wanted things to work.
“How can I have a relationship with you and a future, if I can’t even be forgiven for my past, by my daughter?”
“Babe, there are things in my past I can’t be forgiven for we have to move on. She might come around, but we will be ok I promise you.”
She let him wrap his arms around her. “How can you be sure, Victor, Really? We’re Ex- hired guns”
He shrugged, “We’ll just kill the ones that get on our nerves”
He said it so calm that she had to laugh. “We are perfect for each other cause I was thinking the same thing.”
“That’s why we are so perfect together babe”
