Breaking news: I know what my job is

Cornered Jonatton (not like that, get your mind out of the gutter... oh wait, I was the one who assumed your mind would go there... I can't apologize enough, I am totes a hypocrite :P) and asked him what he actually wanted from me (again, not like that :PP) and persisted through all vagaries and bullshit until I got a definitive answer.

Turns out, I'm to do seven or eight 150-200 word band reviews a month and one longer review of a "real" band (I'll check with Ned what constitutes a "real" band later on).

Soo... here's one of the things that I've done so far. I don't know if it's any good, I haven't tried to write anything for years. Dan says it's ok, so that's good. Anyway... /insecurity

The cOcaine tedDybears are a fairly standard three piece guitar, bass, drums outfit that are competent but unspectacular. They did play their own songs and had ok stage presence, but it's hard to get over the epic twattery that is their name. For one thing, it doesn't flow well. It doesn't have that indefinable "it". It sounds like the name of a wannabe indie, garage band; it tries too hard and falls flat. And speaking as someone who has quite a lot of experience with teddy bears, I can't help but shake the impression that they were just cashing in on their taboo status in rock music. Their music has neither the dizzying excitement of a new teddy bear or the awful shame of owning a teddy bear past a certain age (you thought that you could give Snuggles up anytime, but when the time came, you had to accept that you were just kidding yourself). I can't see this band ever making any lasting impression on either their audience or themselves.

new job!!, ned, jonathan, sugar ape, dan, work- i haz it
