028 :: Syd/Vaughn kissing scenes that stand out to me, s4-5
I started making these partly for ThemeParty on tumblr, and once I had two minispams I just went "whatever, I'll just make it a full spam for scifiland" And so I did. But as you can see I kept it sort of tumblrish, with them not going together in style. But since it's a one theme list picspam it should follow the Big Bang rules well enough. But I have divided them into two parts: s2-3 and s4-5. Saves you some loading time, and gets me nice points.
It started as just kisses, but evolved into "kissing scenes" cause some of them aren't great cause of the actual kiss, but cause of something else. But, kisses are still the common factor for all of them (so I didn't include some wonderful and iconic Syd/Vaughn moments… simply cause they didn't kiss)
SYDNEY/VAUGHN KISSING SCENES THAT STAND OUT TO ME - SEASONS 4 & 5
4.05 - Welcome to Liberty Village
We were supposed to go to Santa Barbara three years ago...
I love eps like this one. Where the "couple" of the show has to play house, and it's never when they are actually properly dating and being happy. For Vaughn and Sydney it came at a time when they had just stated they were going to take it slow.
The scene where they had to improvise an engagement story brought tears to my eyes. They talk about Santa Barbara and the beach a lot, but Vaughn even remembered that Syd mentioned the zoo and the giraffe with the crooked neck, so when he used it all in the story my heart just broke. And that scene lead to this which I just found so sweet, and I love their hands in it. How Syd cradles Vaughn's head when she kisses him on the temple and how his fingers then get entangled in her hair <333
Of course this then leads to them naked in the shower being more adorable:
Sydney: The story you told at the dealership. We were supposed to go to Santa Barbara three years ago. We never made it.
Vaughn: Karen and Dave did.

4.21 - Search and Rescue
Want me to bite you again?
Again: do I really need to explain myself? This is just really hotass XD
I also love how in the beginning of this scene they are totally cute and discussing Syd being rough and Vaughn liking it. With Syd then going "Are we on comms?" and Jack being a bit *facepalm* (with his voice), Marshall all O.O and Vaughn just nodding and smiling cheekily. Had me giggle so much.
And seriously, I love that they do this sort of stuff and have such wonderful chemistry, even if they were in a relationship and broke up, for real. That can so easily destroy a show but these two seem to have managed wonderfully. Must be weird for their respective partners though XD "Bye honey. Going to work to make out with my ex :D".

4.21 - Search and Rescue

Same ep, but I couldn't really skip this scene now could I?
Vaughn finally proposes! It's nothing like he planned it and Sydney doesn't even officially say yes but it's just too adorable (and I love Jack's little smile at the end)

5.01 - Prophet Five
Close your eyes. I'll be right here.
Okay, this is almost cheating. I did say "kissing scenes" though :P
But really, this was just so incredibly heartbreaking to watch. They are so cute talking about baby names, but both we and Sydney see how weak Vaughn is. And now we also know that Syd is getting ready to say goodbye to the love of her life and the father of her child, for what could be forever. Hell, she is the one giving him the chemicals that makes his heart pretty much stop. The song that starts playing at the end (Sarah McLachlan's Dirty Little Secret), and continues over the funeral just made it so much worse for me to watch. I love that song, so cue more tears.
But since this is a kisses spam… the kisses in this scene are quite wonderful tbh. So gentle, and truly goodbye kisses. Hands, mouth, eyebrow… oh my creys.

5.09 - The Horizon
We'll find each other. We always find each other.
It made me cry. Simple as that.
This ep was so wonderfully angsty and Syd was so strong. And of course, so nice to see Vaughn again. But yes, Vaughn saying that Sydney has to let him go, which is really her subconscious telling her to, because they are using him to get to something. And this scene, this… it's on the beach, a place they never got to go to but Syd always dreams about. Sydney has been so strong, giving her captors the wrong information. It ties back to Crossings and the North Korean prison so well, and it fucking hurts.

5.14 - I See Dead People
How did you...
This was great for two reasons:
1. It's the first time they see each other since Vaughn "died". We've seen how painful it has been for Syd, even if she knew he was still alive.
2. It follows Vaughn's reveal that he knew it wasn't Syd who picked him up in Nepal with "And just for the record, you're a terrible kisser." You see, I was so annoyed that Vaughn didn't realize it wasn't Syd from the kiss. Evidently he fooled me as well as Anna. So it was like… a confirmation/victory kiss as well as reunion if you know what I mean?
