Happy Easter all!
Not too much going on here, in the span of a month I managed to some how go from the dog-house at work to being a superstar. I dunno how I did it, but hey....I'm not getting yelled at as much so that's a good thing.
I've been toying with a few themes with my writing/game design...
First, I still want to do my 60's Spy parody game. I'm not sure if I'm going to use my own system or adapt one of the generic systems. I just want it to be light hearted, with my spys surfing on Saturday in Malibu with Frankie and Annette, having dinner that night in Paris with Derek Flint, and then having a shoot out alongside Austin Powers and Maxwell Smart the next day (while hung over because Flint drank them under the table.). I dunno if I'm just going to run this for my gaming group or try to get it published, but I love the idea.
Second, I've latched onto the idea of doing new versions of the 'life path' tables ala the old Central Casting books. I've got ideas that you could build a D&D 3.5 Character from the ground up with the fantasy one with events shaping your ability scores and skill/feat availability. This is just in the formulation stages though.
Last, I've got a new grimdark comedy idea. Basically it's a sci-fi corprate military unit...that's downsized in the middle of a battle on a hostile planet. Oh, and they have to find thier own way home. I can see both the serious and the comedy here....that's why it's a grimdark comedy.
Other than that, not too much going on. I've got a couple of movies on DVD to watch this week, Doubt and Ben-Hur (yes, the 1959 Chuck Heston version) so I'll be watching those, and I'm a little behind on Kamen Rider Decade and Shinkenger so I'll be catching up on them.
Well, TTFN!
