let the games begin

Well the wedding plans are nicely underway. Venue is secured at the very least, albeit not paid for yet... families have been approached, plans discussed, amendments made, concessions given, and blackmail dealt out on top. The main problems here are a) money, of course, and b) needing a minimum of 60 people at the reception to get the bog-arse cheap price of it. So we are going to end up having the inevitable invites to people we haven't seen in years and don't care to again, people we know by reputation only, and people we really just actively don't want around. Which really sucks cause there are a few people I can think of I would like to invite who wouldn't be able to make it (Jules, Christian, Sarah (no not that one) etc..)
But apart from those 2 problems, it's not so bad. We've got a pretty clear idea of what we want, and we're actually not making a bad time of getting it to happen. However since we have approached both sets of parental units, we are currently dangling on the promise of an answer. Janine's father has enough fucking problems of his own for the time being, and my parants, while as rich as sin, are so fucking tight fisted the coins are starting to cut into thier phelanges. It would be nice to think that parants would take the marriage of thier first born son with a hint of grace or even recognition, but mine seem to have not noticed.... I guess that's what comes of learning to turn a blind eye to emotional needs for so long... all the other things get blotted out as well...
In any case, it means a good year of self-denial and scummy living to save as much as is humanly possible in the time available, but I think it's worth it. If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right, and we've got it exactly right.
Out.
