You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)

1. First Name: Jurjen (d'oh)

2. Age: 22 and feeling practically dead already.

3. Location: I'm living right in the old canal-lined city centre of the Dutch town of Alkmaar, although the apartment I live in isn't quite original built, but has been built in the 70s/80s, the town itself recently celebrated it's 750th birthday. Alkmaar is best known for it's 'traditional' cheese market, originally the place for farmers from the surrounding polders to sell their cheeses to merchants.

4. Occupation: Part-time (20-30 hours) assistant manager at a convenience store at our town's train station. We sell all kinds of out-of-home foods, easy meals for at home, drinks, complemented by some of the most basic supplies you might need at home (toilet paper and such). Next to that, I study European Studies at Amsterdam University, which is mostly a study towards the European Union and it's policies, though also focuses on ancient European history, culture, language, economics and politics. I'm specializing in European economics.

5. Partner?: cy-v. We have an 'open' relationship, which doesn't mean we can just do whatever we want, but within set limits we are quite free. Probably more so than any of you (as long as you're in a relationship ;-)). Even though I can get close with people, I do tell her all about it, and introduce them to each other if something spontaneous becomes something more frequent. ;-)

6. Kids: Not yet and unsure if I'll ever want kids. Although I can't imagine I'll be any different from most of the people -who obviously have kids-, I do often think about the things you could do with the money you'd otherwise have to spend on your children. And, is this world worthy of receiving my babies? I dare doubt that...

7. Brothers/Sisters: One older brother.

8. Pets: 3 cats.

Guinness, our youngest, female cat, is very playful and feisty. Bites whenever you're doing something she doesn't like.

Ouzo, or more commonly called 'Bolle' (translates to Fatty). Over seven kilogrammes of cat. Really likes to lay around, and only responds to the word "food!", not even to his own name. Tolerates a lot of teasing, as immediately clawing you to show he's not happy with it means too much activity. Usually waiting a little works, too.

Absinth, formerly known as "Ganster" because of the evil looks he sometimes gives. The more active of the two brothers, and even went on holidays for a few weeks once, without notifying us, leaving us worried about his fate. He's back in our family now, though, and likes to walk around occasionally and explore the world as soon as we open the door. Is actually able of using emergency fire stairs.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:

> Study. Although my study is the most important thing in my life right now, I tend to think too easy about it, not doing enough to ensure enough progress in my study.
> Samantha. My girlfriend is a big thing to me, more so than some of you may think due to the "open relationship" we have. Although our relationship is certainly not one of the easiest, because of the freedoms we have and some other issues, it's certainly worthwhile and I would actually give up quite a lot for that girl. <3
> Work. Even though it's just a job aside of my study, I've gradually worked my way up from regular employee doing the most basic tasks such as helping customers at the registers and stocking up products to assistant manager, being accountable for the store when I work, and co-running the store together with my manager, or another assistant manager if the manager is absent.
> Berlin. For the past few years, plans exist to move to Berlin as soon as my study is finished. Although there's still a few years to go before then, the plans are more likely to become reality than stay a dream. I'm really attracted to the city and get jealous every time I come across someone on the web living there. Finding a job there should be possible, due to the international nature of my study.

10. Where and for what did you go to school for? I did go to school to become a student, which I still am to date.

11. Parents: Obviously.

12. Who are some of your closest friends? Over the course of time I've lost a lot of my close friends for various reasons; sometimes my fault, sometimes theirs, sometimes it just happened. At the moment, I'd only call Samantha a 'close friend', although I've recently opened up to a number of people, as I felt keeping everyone at a distance, handling everything on your own isn't really doable in the long run.
