Rush

I am pressing the buzz nob on the door. I can almost hear my colleague panting behind on the staircase. If we were late just by 5 minutes, our sales plan is ruined…

Obviously, part of the story is missing. It is last day of the quarter. The large order we just received would rescue our plan and keep within budget. Meanwhile, the customer is not responding to my emails or calls…

💣My boss is asking me almost every hour if we received any news from them. Obviously, there is a lot of other work to do in the end of the quarter. However, I decide to risk it: I drop all the other tasks and bike to the customer. I have not seen him before and have no idea if he is even in a country at the moment. I finally find the correct department, call on the door buzz and ask if this person works here. And bingo! Today he is in the office!

🏃‍♂️I finally meet him and have a nice chat. I asked if it is OK for them to accept partial delivery, and we agree. But the production has still to pack the device and it can take several hours. So I constantly check with a customer if he still is in the office. Finally we get the parts packed, drive with my colleagues to the department and catch him in the office just 10 minutes before he is getting his coat to leave.

🍀By far, this is the luckiest last day of the quarter I had. How about your last minute experiences?
