GREAT Weekend!

So, I went home this weekend to partake in my first DDR tournament (I'm excluding the Asian Group tourny for probably apparent reasons). There were 40 entries. First was the qualifying round. The top 16 would take the heavy difficulty, the lower 24 would take the Standard tourny. I qualified for Heavy with a AA, Full combo (all perfects and greats) with 25 greats. I saw some amazing scores in teh round: a girl got 10 greats with a FC, there was a guy with 2 greats, and more than that, a guy got a AAA (all perfects)! For those that follow DDR, the qualifyer was Let's Groove on Heavy (a 6-footer). The next round was two more prepicked songs: Brilliant 2 U (Orchestra Groove) (which is one of Colin's favorite songs) and Candy (Vocal), both 7-footers. The standard players took Afronova Primeval and Waka Laka (7 and 5 respectively). I got a big AA on B2U and a high A on Candy due to 2 misses. However, only the top 8 players were chosen to go on to the bracket. I was something like 9 or 10. I beat the guy I played with in that round, but neither of us did well enough. So, that was that. Three songs and I was gone.

But between sets, we were able to play for free. I got to play Maxx Unlimited, Afronova, I Believe in Miracles (which I played backwards and without arrows!), and Orion 78 (Civilization Mix). I was kickin' ass on the last one too. After I found out I was eliminated, I found out the next two songs for the upcoming round were The Least 300 Seconds and Orion 78 (Civilization Mix). Thus, if I had stayed in, I would have kicked MAJOR ass on the next round... ah well...

I got a new car this weekend! Stephen moved to Boston so I got his car. My new car is a '94, becoming the newest car I've ever owned! It has air conditioning, a window that works, a door I can lock from the inside, and a HORN!!! I'm ecstatic about it!
