My solution to the parents is to be honest with them all the time. Of course, I've been cutting strings since moving to college, and they don't really expect to ever hear from me now. I probably get called/IMed/emailed by my parents 30 times to the one time I'll call/IM/email them. Not saying I'm a great son, but I've cut the apron strings, so to speak.

And I got a 37 and own you both.
