Our Husky Rescue puts out a quarterly newsletter. I just downloaded and read this quarter’s, and I was shocked to see that I was given the honor of volunteer of the quarter! I had NO clue I was being mentioned, and I actually started crying when I read this. The only mistake in this article, is I have actually been volunteering for 2 years, and not 1.
Anyway, I cut and pasted my article here, but if anyone wants to check out the whole newsletter or see my actual article, click here -

SHRF is proud to announce our
Volunteer of The 1st Quarter, 2008
Sally W
Sally came on board as a Volunteer a
little over a year ago after adopting
from us. Since then she has become
very involved and helpful. She actually
created and now maintains our
SHRF Transport Team. Without her
guidance in the transport area we’d
never be able to accomplish all of the
across the state road trips that are required.
Sally is also one of our top
Swashbucklers, calling back and giving
guidance and advice to our many
answering machine callers. More than
one caller has let SHRF know what an
asset she is to this team.
Also an excellent Home Inspector for
the Rescue, Sally really has that good
intuition about potential adopters and
knows all the right questions to ask to
insure that our rescued furballs are
going to their right, forever home.
Just recently, Sally has jumped right
in to fill a void in our adoption and
foster application department and is
doing a fantastic job interviewing
applicants and delegating reference
checks and Vet checks to other volunteers.
Just when we needed her, Sally
has come through and saved the day!
Words can’t thank her enough.
Sally is now the proud Mom to two
SHRF rescued dogs, Maya and Halo,
so she knows exactly what it takes to
be a qualified adopter. This experience
has helped her quickly learn the
SHRF procedures and help us find
some wonderful adopters.
Sally stays very active, helping out at
as many SHRF events and fundraisers
as she can and doing transports and
still being able to balance it all with a
full time job! "Wonder Woman" aptly
describes our Sally and everyone at
SHRF is proud to have her on our
team!
Thank you Sally and CONGRATS!
