Yesterday was definitely a crazy day. It was really AWESOME seeing my family and friends, but it was also very overwhelming. I was supposed to be working yesterday as well, but I ended up spending the entire time talking to people and catching up (whoops!) We all went out to lunch as well, then came back to the office for cake and ice cream. I was a little embarrassed, because I never like to be the center of attention. It was SO wonderful to see everyone though, and I did start to get a little emotional a few times!
We went out to dinner with my Brother, his Wife, and my 2 sweet little Nephews. The restaurant wasn't that great, but seeing them was! My Nephews were a little shy around me at first (which is understandable, they haven't seen me in 8 months). Finally, Bradley admitted to his Mom that "Aunt Sally doesn't look the same, she has a pony-tail!" As soon as I took my hair down, he warmed up to me more, lol! Tanner was a little sweetheart as usual, and we played and played, all through dinner. Tanner is allergic to eggs, and was not allowed to have any Birthday cake, and it just broke my heart, watching his little cheeks start to flush, and his eyes starting to tear up, because everyone else got cake but him. I barely even touched mine, it wasn't very good anyway, but I also felt too bad to eat it, so I ended up covering it up with a napkin (as did most of us). Bradley drew me a picture of what I thought was a rainbow, so when I asked him if it was a rainbow, he looked at me like I must be stupid, and said "No! It's a hundred pancakes!" That was my next guess, naturally :)
Today, Carolyne and I are going to work (and hopefully working this time). Hurray for vacations, huh?
