Yesterday afternoon, I was working at my desk, nursing my cramps, and pretty much counting down the final hours until I could sign out, go take a steamy bath and just read really superficial magazines.
I got a phone call from my friend Jonathan, who works for the Genitorturers. He and his Wife were moving to Tampa and didn't have anyone to help them move in. He was sorry to have to ask, especially on such short notice, but was there any way he could borrow Me and Erik? We ended up pulling some strings, agreed, and also got Jerica and Jon to come over to help. Turns out their new apartment is only 2 miles from Jeri's, so it worked out nicely.
When we first got there, we sighed a relief to see that they were on the first floor. Then they opened the front door to reveal a set of stairs going straight up... Damnit :)
We worked our tails off getting everything unloaded, then sat around with some beers and bullshitted for a while, catching up and what-not. On our way out, we gave Jonathan a ride to take his U-Haul back, and had a very interesting adventure of U-Turn after U-Turn after U-Turn.
After we were done, instead of going home like we were supposed to, we decided to call up our friend Peter and see if he wanted to get something to eat with us. We picked him up, went to Applebee's, where a few of us proceeded to get somewhat hammered. Had an awesome evening catching up with everybody, but it was a pretty damn late night... I think we made it home somewhere around 3:30-4:00.
I had a Vet appointment for 8:00 this morning for Butters, so he could be neutered and get his rabies shot. I may have still been slightly drunk when I dropped him off this morning, but I didn't show it :) Half-way through the day, I was working, and glanced over at my calendar, and realized that Butters' appointment is not actually until tomorrow. I called the Vet's office and the VT laughed and said she noticed it was the wrong day when I came in, but didn't say anything because they can still get it done today. I thanked her for being understanding, but still felt really embarassed that I took him in on the wrong damn day.
I just went to pick him up a little while ago. They gave him a pain killer injection, so he is feeling pretty damn good right now! He was a really brave little Boy and I am such a proud Mama! He is going to get extra snuggles and pampering later on, especially when his pain meds start to wear of...
