Table: A
Prompt: 022- Blood

Azula had never been a fan of petty revenge. The best thing to do when someone wronged you was to punish them for it, of course, but unfortunately, that wasn't always a viable option on the community. The absolute worst thing to do was to run head-long into something without proper thought or planning. That was when mistakes were made, and while she expected-- counted on, even-- those mistakes in other people, they were unacceptable in herself.

She didn't like to think of it as a regression, and so she didn't. Instead, it was justice. Someone who did such a thing on her own world would have been executed, or at the very least jailed-- and while she normally made no efforts to police the community criminals, things were different when they involved her (Hakuba could attest to that).

"I could hurt her the way she made me hurt you-- or worse." Azula brought the possibility up with Cuddy-- but not Ty Lee, because she was still mad at her-- only a few hours after she had awakened. After having her idea shot down right away (the exact words had been "No-- don't you dare"), she actually let it slide-- whether or not it was out of respect, or even a desire to please, was anyone's guess.

Still, that didn't mean that she was going to do absolutely nothing.

It didn't take long to find out the name of the world Dr. Tenenbaum lived on; it took even less time to locate her home. She didn't kick the door down or anything dramatic-- she simply waited until the woman opened it herself, and then forced her way in.

"Hello, doctor." The first thing Azula did was grab her wrists, so she couldn't go for any needles or vials. She quickly tied them together with rope, then aimed a kick at her legs to bring her down to her knees. The woman didn't look afraid-- that was what annoyed her the most.

"Do you remember me?" Her voice was thick with sarcasm. "Well, it doesn't matter. You're about to." She drew a small knife from her pocket, holding it against Tenenbaum's throat.

"Should I do it?" She was severe; cruel; unmerciful. "Should I end your miserable existence, once and for all? Believe me, I have nothing against the idea." The knife dug in a little harder, drawing a thin line of blood.

The two stayed like that for what felt like hours-- Azula's eyes hard and and unfeeling, Dr. Tenenbaum's fierce and defiant. In a sudden movement, Azula withdrew the knife and threw Tenenbaum onto the floor (eliciting a few choice German swears).

"I could have done more," she said coldly. "Remember that."

Then she turned and walked away.
