misheardSubject: Issei Ryudo
Table: A
Prompt: 19. Lost
Notes: I know the last part hasn't happened yet, bear with me here.
1. Deface the Amagi Inn.
For a very long time, Issei laid in the grass, not moving. Eventually, he struggled to his feet and started towards home.
He stopped, and turned to look back at the inn. "...considering that she threw her purse at me, I don't think Amagi and I are friends now."
2. Break into Haibara’s lab.
"I haven't seen you a lot lately. Are you sure you're okay?" Shirou's voice sounded concerned.
"I'm fine, really. I was just visiting someone else," Issei answered. "...By the way, do you know anything about treating gunshot wounds?"
"Um, I can't say that I do. Why do you ask?"
"No reason, really! I was just wondering, eheh."
3. Steal Vanessa's collar.
"Excuse me, could I have a word with you?" Without waiting for the monk's reply, Issei continued, "I know it's not a good thing to be distrustful, and you had no way of knowing what her intentions were, but please, never direct a woman to my room again. I don't think these bruises will heal for weeks."
4. Steal Cuddy’s underwear.
"...so that's it. Farewell, my dignity." Issei sighed. "Archer should be grateful that I'm willing to debase myself so for his sake. ...who puts complicated designs on their underwear, anyway? It's not as if anyone would ever see them - oh, wait."
5. Steal Rusty’s gadgets.
6. Steal Klaud’s whip.
"Learning Japanese for Dummies... Japanese Language 101..." Issei pulled the books off of the shelf. "I don't see anything specifically designed for people teaching Japanese, but that's probably to be expected. Most people who teach Japanese are teachers, who have teacher workshops and things like that. ...In fact, I may be the only person who's had to teach Japanese to repay them for using their network of shady contacts on my behalf."
7. Steal the Grave of Maria from Cross.
Shirou stared. "Um, so... she's what you need to store until someone picks her up?"
"I don't think it's really a she, even if it happens to look like a woman with a plant on her face," Issei grumbled, dragging her - it - whatever it was into Shirou's backyard. "You can see why I didn't think she would fit in the temple. Too tall."
"Yeah, you're probably right," Shirou agreed. "Why do you have her, anyw-?"
"Could you leave us - me alone for a bit while I arrange for it to be picked up?" Issei interrupted. "It's confidential, otherwise I'd let you stay."
Shirou shrugged and headed back inside.
A few minutes later, Issei followed him. "It's been collected. Thank you for your time."
"How did someone get in to pick her up? I didn't see anyone come by."
"They... you must have missed them. Somehow. They certainly didn't collect it without coming here at all."
8. Steal Rider’s motorcycle.
"It's very kind of your grandfather to let me have one of his motorcycles. I didn't think he could just give them away so easi-" Issei stopped as he saw the rows of motorcycles. "Actually, never mind."
"Oh, don't worry about it~ Have whichever one you like. You know, I never pictured you for the motorcycle type..." Taiga mused aloud.
"It's not for me," Issei answered, starting to examine the motorcycles. "One of my friends had hers stolen. It was very tragic."
Taiga beamed. "Oh, that makes sense! It's good to know that even in the kind of world where terrible people steal other people's things, there are people like you who'll make up for that."
"You... really flatter me too much, Fujimura-sensei," he said weakly.
"You're too modest~"
Issei sighed. At least when this was over, he'd be half done.
