I laughed at the anti-slash message they had going on. How do you stop the Apollo/Starbuck hoyay? You make Starbuck a girl. And everybody and their uncle had a very obvious girlfriend.

I think you're right, this is a clear attempt to prevent slashfic by denying it fuel -- they constructed the character interrelationships so that there are no strong m/m or f/f bonds (or at least none surviving). Let's just ignore the way Starbuck's body language is so close to the original's that she's coming off as bi. ::g:: They keep this up, there's gonna be Appolo/Adama slash out there.....

Aside from that, I liked it over-all, aside from the costuming. Suits and ties? Are they trying to imply a recent connection with current Earth cultures, or are they making a clumsy attempt at a contemporary feel? Or did they think nobody'd notice?

My sister said the same thing. Why have them so "Earthian", especially since Earth doesn't exist. The miniseries ripped off a lot of ideas from several sci-fi sources, so why not some of the costuming? :-)

And who is poor Starbuck going to be bi with? All the women, except the dying president, have big strong men to protect them. Oh, there was that tech girl who was free, right, the one with the small hands?
