Clark Kent is single, he's always been single. So why does he feel like something terribly important is missing? Whether he turns to Diana, Bruce, or his exasperating co-worker Lois to talk about these feelings is up to you.

Hope this is what you were looking for.
Clark's always been … alone isn't the right word, because there's always been someone meddling in his life, but he's never been … together with anyone.
He's always been single. Just him. Just plain old Clark.
Even Superman's never had a formal partner. Kara and Kon may be 'Super' as well, but they've never been his and he's never been theirs.
He's always been single and that thought kind of terrifies him.
Or rather, the implications it has on the missing pieces of his life terrify him.
He wakes up in the morning, warm and energized by the sun, and rolls over in his bed. His arms reach and clutch at air, searching for something and waking him up with a frantic jolt when it's not there.
Clark, it's our day off. Le'me sleep.
He forgets to make the coffee and is always surprised when there's none in the pot. As he makes a batch, he always wonders how he could have forgotten -
mm, I feel like Superman coffee today. Hot, black, and strong.-that there's no one else to make it

Ohhhh, this was perfect and so sad, and it fits the tone of Superman #1 very well. It makes perfect sense if things bleed over, how he can't get over her at all and yet (in the canon) can't seem to get up the nerve to approach her either. I'm glad you fixed that! I think my favorite little detail was how sad he is whenever she doesn't ask him how to spell something...poor Clark!

Beautiful. I really wish this wasn't anon, because I'd love to read your other fics, writernon. (You did write other fics in this fandom, right?)
It's amazing. Their voices and how everything bleeds together and Lois having a system and Clark honestly fumbling for once, not because he's playing a role, but because he's asking her out... OTP.

I don't have an official account, but if you want to read more of what I wrote, I wrote the 'Flying in Hong Kong' on DCnU Meme, and several on the Tim/Kon Meme. If you'd like to read those, I'd be happy to point out which they are.
