on yet another year of existence. It is during this time of solitude that I look back on my 29th year of living.
It's been an eventful year.
There have been good times.
There have been not so good times.
The people who are around me, and the people who have left.
If I've never told you personally that you matter to me, then I apologise for my oversight.
If you can see this, know that you matter to me. Whether if it was a lesson learnt or an experience shared, your presence have added a thread into my tapestry.
To my family, though you may never truly figure out what drives me, what will still be foremost in my mind will still be that family is everything. Even if we drive each other up the wall, or feel like strangling each other, at the end of the day, we forgive and forget. Ok maybe we won't forget but we can certainly forgive.
To my friends, wherever you may be. I wish you all the best and I do hope that we will meet again. I might be a little demanding, a little obnoxious, definitely annoying, might even be a trifling distant and that's entirely my fault. I get distracted easily. =) But I do hope that you know that if you ever do need my help and it's within my abilities, I'll definitely be there for you. If it's not, I'll still be there to be the voice of reason.
One of you mentioned that I didn't have a wishlist this year. I don't usually make a list. I did that on a lark maybe because it makes it easier for people when you can define happiness by material things. For me, I don't really care for those things. I might whine about it from time to time but it's all just for fun. All I want for my birthday is to spend it in the company of those dear to me. It may not have always been the case but as you grow older, you begin to appreciate these things more and more as life and responsibility comes between us and suddenly years may go by without ever meeting. So sometimes, this is actually the harder request to fulfill.
And I am ever so grateful that we are friends. Thanks for the memories. Thanks for everything.
And in case anyone cares, if anyone is wondering,
what I want for my birthday
1. world peace
2. end to world hunger
3. see my 'goddaughter'
4. see you
can? =)
oh.. and to that other friend of mine, I'm still not a himbo.. truly. You can't really go wrong with world peace.. *grin*
cheers,
