J.D. looked around the streets of Gotham. She had traveled by bus, bus being the preferred method of clowns that didn't have cars. One thing, she thought, now that she was looking on this place with all her memories, was that the city was still dark.
It didn't matter if you were on the flip side or not, Gotham city was a very dark city.
And J.D. was a very bright and colorful girl. She was wearing greasepaint if only because she almost always wore greasepaint. (Goal Then: be like Mom and Dad. Goal Now: spread laughter, hope and rubber chickens to those in need, so, be like Mom and Dad.) Her bright colors also clashed with the muted tones of the city. She wore a bright pink dress in the style of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, with rainbow socks that went up to her knees and bright green buckled and clunky shoes. She had a lacy rainbow umbrella opened and perched on her shoulder, not that you needed it to block the sun here.
Gotham skies always seemed to eat the sun.
J.D. sighed and then steeled herself, "Home is where the heart is. So time to give my home a heart."
"city of fear",
