Warriors

Jason'd was in the mood for decent food, and beer that wasn't watered, and someplace that was safe for heroes to come in either guise. That meant Warriors, when you were in New York. He'd called Amelia up, let her know where he was gonna be for the night, and headed for the bar. Maybe he should have called some of his new coworkers...screw it. He ( Read more... )

The white-haired hostess eyed the man in the domino mask, and tapped her pen against her lips. "I suppose I ought to thank you for the warning. Want a drink while you're waiting?"

And, of course, this had to happen on a night when Guy was gone, and she was left in charge of the floor.

"Anything you got on tap. Long as it's a Corona," Jason ordered.

Rose snorted, and then sauntered off to get him his beer.

Staaya was planning on continuing through some of her work late into the night, but after the fight recently with Ray, and all the tabloids, hard liquor with Red Robin instead sounds heavenly.

Warriors it is. "Ahoy," she calls as she recognizes her teammate, and hops up on a stool. She's got blood, dirt and grease on her arms and suit, and the first thing she does is start unlatching her gauntlets. "Happy happy hour."

Zephyra glanced down at the text message. Well, she wasn't scheduled to work at the bookstore tonight, and she was otherwise on exclusive contract with the Elite. Hitting reply, she typed a quick message back.

All the sarcastic banter is wearing. Amelia sips at her cognac, tired but comfortable. At least the folks on her side of the bar are in good spirits.

"There's got to be darts or pool in this place, right?" Alcohol and her aim should never mix, but what the hell.

Vera steps up with a grin. "If there's not, we need to find a better place." She turns to the waitress. "Scotch."

"Howdy," which just sounds funny when she says it.

She quick-sips the last of her cognac, then orders a Young's double chocolate stout, before heading off to the ladies room. She's back a minute or two later, a little better cleaned up. "Pool's over there, darts are there," she points. "Game?"

Vera grins. "Sounds like a plan. Fancy a wager on pool?"

Owen holds out Amelia's chair for her before seating himself, leaning back in his chair with a content smile. "So, what's your poison of choice?"

Pulling a chair out? Really? Whoever said chivalry was dead was obviously wrong. It's sweet and old-school.

"Crown Royal," she says. "So, are you actually a Star Trek fan, or is it just a good excuse?"

Anyone who said a Rogue doesn't know how to treat a lady was also wrong.

Owen waves down Rose as he shrugs. "Enough that I like NextGen best, but not so much that I put on costumes or anything." He paused. "Besides the obvious. He chuckles at that.

"And I've always thought thinking a lady was strong and beautiful was enough excuse. The darts was just a way of me showing off how skilled and manly I am in the same go." Another grin.

"Ah, the insatiable ego. Well, you're lucky I have the same, then. Flattery does indeed get you everywhere."

She takes a look around the bar while they wait for their drinks. The Elite is certainly an odd bunch and it's too early to tell yet how the heroes feel about them. Maybe that's why Amelia joined; it was apparently sticking in the Outsiders' craw, at least. "Forgive what seems a random question, but why did you join? Besides money or maybe a government pardon, patriotism seems the only other reason, and, pardon my presumptuousness, but you don't seem the type."
