The New Law
While many Green Lanterns have gone to Mogo to help defend him, and others have traveled to Qward to attempt to rescue the Torchbearer, and even a few others are spread throughout the universe seeking the enemies of the Corps, many others remain on Oa, defending the center of the Guardians' power and awaiting the new commands from their leaders.
When a light shines from the citadel below the central battery and the Guardians emerge, the Lanterns on Oa respond. They grow silent to listen to the orders of the Guardians of the Universe.
"Officers," the leading Guardian says, "we have all suffered great loss against this horrific incursion of fear. Many are dead and wounded. Many more are missing in action. The Sinestro Corps fight without mercy. They torture those they capture. They revel in the pain they cause. And they seek the destruction of the Corps.
"We understand the limitations both our code of conduct and the power rings themselves have. It is for these reasons we have rewritten the book of Oa. Rewritten to include the first of ten new laws.
"The first law of ten within the Book of Oa, effective immediately: the power rings are now authorized to use lethal force against the Sinestro Corps and their allies."
Throughout the galaxy, the rings update.
