One would think that being nigh all-powerful should come easy. This is the sort of thing most people only dream of. Travis is slowly learning the extent of his powers and awareness, with Ion pushing him to learn faster.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but with Ion about in a crisis situation, he's finding it hard to think. Or at least Travis-think.

He realizes, belatedly, that he should have seen the attack to free the prisoners coming. Not seeing through a frontal assault is completely unlike him. And yet when pushed, this time, the overwhelming instinct wasn't to sort through the rushing thoughts and find the most likely real scheme behind it all - it was to stay calm, Ion's sheer presence of will pushing back the adrenaline rush, and then to push back, overpower, overwhelm.

And he did - there wasn't anyone on the field who posed him a real threat. He likely saved a lot of lives with his shields, and he knows he did some damage to the Sinestro Corps - but the Travis-think inside Ion is already contemplating how many more lives will be lost for not seeing through the real intent and reacting on gut instinct.

And ultimately, that's why he's going to see the planetform Mogo. Because for all that he passed the tests, and for all that he should be able to find a way to use all this power to save the universe, something about this merging still just isn't right, and he's well aware its throwing off both him and Ion.
