...apparently defeated. The mysterious woman who vanished with Nekron has not been identified, and the heroes shown here with temporarily white costumes have returned to their previous appearances. There are no details as yet as to what caused this change of costuming. We'll have a report on that a bit later.
But the most surprising element of this so-called "Blackest Night" event has been the fallout. Several of the world's deceased heroes, as well as many criminals, have apparently been restored to life. An exact count has not been verified, and is unlikely to be forthcoming, but some estimates suggest dozens of costumed metahumans, both hero and criminal, have been restored to life.
Beyond the metahumans, there are several dozen confirmed reports of people not connected to the metahuman connection also returning to life, with some estimates of final numbers as high as 1000 individuals restored by the strange explosion of white light that was the culmination of the battle in Coast City. Even more unusual is that many of those so-restored, particularly older individuals, found themselves restored to a younger time in their life. There are no offical reports, but at least one doctor noted of his patient that he appeared to have gained an additional fifteen years to his life.
In a sadder note, we turn to the small village of Clearwater, where the Titans made their final stand. This footage shows their final sacrifice, battling this dangerous Black Lantern. Few Titans survived the explosion. Some theorize that the survivors may disband the team following the loss of so many important members. But even if they do, their sacrifice will always be remembered.
