Doom Restored
He's missed a great deal. This is unacceptable.
After the white light restored his body (except for his legs, which is curious -- many others appeared to be restored to full vitality, and this is something to explore later), Niles Caulder wheeled himself away from the battlefield.
He had a number of hidden bases all over the world, saved for emergency purposes. Strange, the one in Coast City was gone -- but there was another in San Francisco. The other members of the Doom Patrol have been informed as to where they could go to rest and recouperate. They have all been restored, and this will take some adjustment. (Though he had realized already that Cliff had somehow survived the explosion at Codville. That doesn't surprise him -- his robotic body had the best chance for recovery.)
He's sure the others have come to the base by now. He's got a sign on the door warning them not to disturb him; he has several years of news to catch up on.
So Niles sits at the computer banks, watching the last several years of news reports flash by on several screens, while he simultaneously scans printed reports.
He wants to know everything he missed.
