"Lane"
"Lane!"
"LANE!"
The shout bellowed from the open office door of Perry White, Editor in Chief of the Daily Planet.
"I'm here, I'm here already." Lois hustled into the bosses office, cell pressed against her chest to mute it somewhat.
"Why the hell are you here when the story is out there?" Perry gave her an eagle eye and then glanced to the phone. "That had better be a lead to just what hell is breaking loose out there!"
"It is, I think. No word back from Superman and Clark was trying to cover that angle. But I think I have another lead to check out."
"Well then get on it! People need to know what's going on. The Planet has walked this country through more wars, plagues, attacks and strange visitors from another planet than I can count. We are not about to drop the ball now." Perry returned behind his desk.
"I'm on it Chief."
"And Lois, be careful out there, I want the story, but I want my top reporter to be the one to file it alive and well."
She smirked a bit, nodded and turned on her immaculate heel. Things were crazy all over the country, well the world really. Sightings of the dead rising, heroes rushing all over the country to fight collected pockets of undead things. Lois would love to be out there, but she had the same thing right here in Metropolis. She headed out of the Planet to see a horde of people running toward her.
"Ok, so danger that way then." Off she dashed, against all logic and sense of self preservation, toward the danger.
