Good Publicity is Good Publicity (Open to all)
All across America, citizens watched as a new group of teenage heroes claimed victory over a giant robotic president. Hundreds went online wondering who they were and where they came from.
Katie Rockwell has the answers.
"Just a few days ago, the city of Austin was subjected to a sight one might find in Metropolis, a giant robot attack in the guise of former president Lyndon B. Johnson. The robot proceeded to attack downtown until a new team of superheroes sprung into action. Eight teenagers, some of whom many will recognize."
The screen fades to footage of the fight that had been broadcast live the other day.
"The heroes that have been identified are Speedy, Green Arrow's partner hailing from Star City, Captain Marvel Jr. from Fawcett City, and the duo known as Static and Gear from Dakota. Texas's own Scarab was also spotted."
As each hero is named, a small picture of them is keyed into the screen.
"The last to be properly identified is Zachary Zatara, best known as a stage magician and cousin to Zatanna Zatara. The fire breathing demon is the same one who, with help from Scarab, apprehended the villain known as Bolt in Hollywood. While not confirmed, reports say he is known as either Devil Boy or Kid Devil."
The footage cuts to a shot of Eddie being caught in the air by Megan.
"The most mysterious of the group is what appears to be a young girl resembling the Justice League's Martian Manhunter, wearing a similarly designed costume and is apparently a Martian as well. Little is known about her, but the public has dubbed her "Miss Martian."
The broadcast cuts back to Katie sitting at the desk and looking into the camera.
"The question most people are asking is why these heroes from so many different places have banded together in Austin. The mayor told reporters that these heroes are a new third branch of the Teen Titans, calling themselves Titans South, and that they have set up their headquarters in the city. As for the attack, investigations are in progress, and we will have more on that story as information becomes available. For now, the people of Texas can rest easy knowing that a new team of crime fighting superheroes are here to watch over them."
