Musically embarrassed

Okay, this is where I admit to a great tragedy on my part. I almost never go see live music. There's no particular reason, I just don't usually. Oh, I will go see the occasional local band here and there but usually, it is just because the place I want to be and the band is playing happen to be the same. But for real concerts? I can probably list them all on my hands. Maybe even one hand.

Right-o. Here are the bands I've made a specific effort to go see live:
They Might Be Giants (several times)
Smashing Pumpkins
Ween
Front 242
Willie Nelson
(Devo - to come)

I know there might be one or two more. A couple that played at Shaffer Ct. like Velocity Girl and Queens of the Stone Age when they played at Friday Cheers (or something else, it was at Brown's Island still). Okay, I know I've gone to see more than that but those were more of just tagging along to see bands I'd never heard of. Honestly, Willie was really just tagging along but once I started thinking about it, I realized he's only got so many more shows left in him so I'd better see him while I have the chance. Devo is similar in my mind as I may never get another chance to see them. Who knows?

Now it has me thinking of all the other performances I'd love to see. Not many of these have a thing in common aside... I'd like to see them live (if possible). Beastie Boys, NIN, B-52s, Beck, Cake, David Bowie, Depeche Mode (they were playing in Florence when we were there, gah!!!), The Detroit Cobras, Green Day, Dead Mau5, Primus, Social D, White Stripes... and how awesome would it be to go to a concert conducted by John Williams or Danny Elfman?!?!

I'm actually embarrassed that I haven't gone to see more but all I can do it correct this terrible oversight. Starting last Friday with Willie and now... DEVO!
