[title] worry naught
[pairing] a lil' bit of hosu; Yunho-centric
[genre] uh, general?
[rating] g
[summary] he never seems to sleep
[a/n] :3 It's been a while since I've written, even longer since I've posted here. So yupp, I don't think the piece is too angsty; concrit is ♥~

Sleep never comes naturally to Yunho - he lies so still on his bed each night, listening to the steady breathing of his family as he waits for dawn to approach. He draws comfort from knowing that his family - yes his - never fails to seek refuge in the comfort of their home. Yunho thinks no one knows, believes no one sees his silent anguish, hopes no one's aware that he never does the same.

He fancies himself as the heavenly protector of the five, wants himself to be the only one they run to in times of need. He doesn’t subscribe to relying on anyone else, only himself. Even when his eye bags are as noticeable as Prada bags - he turns to no one, not even when he falls ill as often as he uses the washroom.

Smoking is a vice - but it’s his friend, his only friend to embrace him in the shadows of the night. He can’t possibly smoke in the room, not when it would harm their voices, and takes to fighting off chills at the balcony. He moves on, acknowledging that he can’t protect anyone - not even himself - and likens himself to one of the lone, burning stars in the distance.

Yunho does not like it whenever someone catches him at his game. Questions evolve to statements as the years pass, and curious eyes harden with frustration. He simply nods and vaguely gestures at the stars, “A star - that’s what I am.” They think him crazy from all the smoke, but he only smiles and walks away.

“Hyung, again.” He feels the accusing eyes burning deep holes into his skull, and he shrugs - not bothering to refute the statement - for he is guilty as charged. But it takes a different twist this time when his dongsaeng decides to sit down beside him. His hand reaches out to pull Junsu close, murmuring quietly into the mess of hair, “You do know I love you, don’t you?”

The arms around his waist tighten in response as the sleepy man acknowledges Yunho’s words. Yunho smiles gently, for the first time in all his nights, for he believes that this - is what life truly means. Sleep, my dear child, and worry naught.

side note: some parts are in italics because they are Yunho's thoughts, the part about the "thinks', 'believes' and 'hopes' is to sort of emphasise that he is lying to himself (if that makes sense :/)
