Jaejoong sighed all his uneasiness away. Stress was inevitable during days of album preparations plus TV show appearances, but because he was the oldest, he tried not to show his brothers how weary and tired he was. He wanted to be their pillar. He wanted to be the one to comfort them.
He busied himself in the kitchen, his castle - fortress - where he was king and almighty, preparing dinner for those that he loved. This was one way to make them feel better, he thought. And he did his best. Humming a slow tune to himself, Jaejoong rinsed the vegetables before cutting them up in thin strips; big bulks of meat were transformed into lean bite sized chunks. He sautéed onions and garlic in olive oil, letting the sweet and savory aroma sooth him and his hunger.
And his thoughts lingered away from the kitchen to one of the rooms in the other side of the dorm. He imagined the younger man, who occupied the one right opposite his, walk into Jaejoong’s palace, sit on a chair around the dining table, and talk to him. He wanted to hear his stories, his jokes, his laughter, because right from the very first time Jaejoong heard all these, he could not take his mind of him - Kim Junsu.
And he vowed, one day, Junsu will laugh for him just like Jaejoong’s heart was beating solely for the younger man.
