Go-go Regal cinemas!
So I have discovered after about 3 weeks of working at my local theater, that I largely hate my job. I hate working concessions because it disgusting and I hate what stupid shit people will ask, and how they get pissed at YOU the closest one that works there about prices. And bitch about them to you because that's all they can do, and we can't say shit back. Fuckers.
I also hate greeting, not because its bad because of people.... its because its the hardest job to LOOK BUSY AT. You stand at a podium for about 2 hours just tearing tickets and telling people where to go, and occasionally flag a manager for additional assistance when a customer has a complaint about a movie theater. Ya know, sounds off/too loud, its too cold and what not, that's not bad. Its when the theater is dead and your boss tells to you to look busy. Well, that's not that bad after he realises that its dead and I can't really do shit. Mostly it gets to me cuz of boredom.
But I love ushing. Its the most fun because i'm just walking back and forth with a sweep set and a smile looking like i'm doing something. Of course what i'm supposed to do is clean theaters after they get out, which I DO, but when that's not goin' on.... i'll either bullshit with a co worker or sit in and watch a bit of a movie before I gotta do work again.
I haven't gotten up to box yet, but that'll take a while, and I'm fairly certain that i'm not gonna be there long enough to get there. The laziest job, of sitting in a chair asking what movie, what time... then handing that person their tickets and goin' back to sittin on yo ass again. I'd love it.
But hopefully, if Aaron Brothers calls me back and i'm cool to work there, Bye-bye theater. Better pay, art supplies, closer to school.... yeah that'll make Dave happy.
I do sound like i'm very bitter, but I will say, consessions is actually worse if I describe what stuff goes on behind the counters. But I don't think you'll ever eat anything from there again. If you're a pussy.
Edit: its come to my realization that, i'm bitching about my job only because i've gotten a paycheck. I think everyone who's just started working at any place will automatically bitch about it after recieving a pay check from their respective work place. Plus everyone you work with tells you, give it a couple weeks and you'll hate it there. PROPHETS!!
