I finished The Birdwatcher yesterday. This lady contacts Carol because she helped her with a case before, and she thought she'd return the favor and offer a new case to Carol about her missing neighbor. As you might have guessed by the title, the guy, named Henrik, is a birdwatcher and he loves photography too. I've noticed that Carol never finds these missing people though because they always end up dead. Oops. Spoilers. I guess Carol is not that great at her job after all. This game has estranged daughters and gold diggers. I didn't get particularly disoriented in any location this time. Carol's weapon of choice though? I think it was whiteout? Or something like that. Weirdly there was one part where I was stuck and that was even with the inbuilt hint system. I don't think the hint was worded too well. I was forced to look at a video walkthrough because there was no written one. Grrr. I can't stand those because it's easy to run into spoilers and it's difficult to find the exact location you're stuck at. Maybe I wouldn't mind video walkthroughs if they were labeled better so you know what to look for. I know they're popular right now because they're easy to make, but I really hate this trend. Anyway, it had to do with missing a hotspot and I even had the hotspot finder. I apparently didn't use it on this particular area. I fail.
So, this game was all right. It felt like there was an obnoxious amount of errand running in this one. There's always that in each of these games that breaks the flow of these games as you have to do tedious tasks for Stina and Jonas in exchange for information or for an item. Anyway, it seemed especially annoying this time. I also didn't appreciate at the end that the woman who gave us the case took most of the credit for solving the mystery. :/ I leave you with a screenshot. A neat little area, but don't ask me to name it, with these little homes in the shape of mushrooms and logs. We lie about being an artist to a guy that lives there.
I've decided now that yes, I'm going to replay Unavowed again because I'm eager to listen to that commentary and make different choices. And thinking about it has me wanting to replay the Blackwell series again. Yes, even Blackwell Epiphany *sigh*. It's been a few years, so why not? I'm sure I've forgotten things. I'm not sure when I'll do this or how I'd squeeze it in because again I have my huge list of adventure games to play. I don't want to start neglecting that list. But I'm planning on culling that list too. It's getting long, so I'm going to remove some of the games that got bad reviews. If I agree with what Adventure Gamers consider is bad anyway. I also have a collection of Hidden Object Games. More on that later. And I'm still "playing" (Just collecting books) Skyrim and I'm finishing up Dragon Age. I'm getting close with that one. So maybe I'll play Blackwell then to fill in that void or you know whatever. I'll figure it out eventually.
And it's my mom's birthday today. We'll be going out to dinner at a place called the Bonefish Grill, and that's all we can really do since she's still sick. My mom invited Ariel too, but I'm not sure if she will be coming. Makes me kinda nervous because I've never met her met her, and neither has anyone else really.
