"Flawed, Narcissistic, and Doing Our Best"

Jul 07, 2019 01:12

Up at 12:30 PM. I'm going to have to set a wakeup call along with my alarms on Monday. I'll need to stop drinking caffeine in the evening too.

Read an article about Aldi that says that their non-food items are about the same price as other stores. I buy toilet paper there, but maybe I should shop around.

I'm attempting to take a nap, but Mimi has other plans. Mimi and I have it worked out, though, that when I lie on my right side, I'll pet her, but when I flip over, I'm going to sleep, and she goes away. After all that, I couldn't fall asleep, so I got up.

Mimi has taken over Zara's favorite spot on a box in the hall. I have a backpack on the floor in the kitchen (need to get a coat rack), and Zara has decided that it's a perfect cat bed. She got up, though, because I'm eating. She takes her food-sniffing duties seriously.

Listened to a student loan webinar. Printed off the presentation. Decided (reluctantly) that I should sign up for HP's ink subscription because I print a lot of things off.

Talked to Mom. She needs to cut her visit in August shorter because my aunt wants Mom to come to Chicago and visit as well. That's okay; it'll give me some downtime.

I don't know why Zara gets totally manic when I feed them.

I need to run get some milk and bread.

I just remembered that Tales of the City is on Netflix. Maybe I could watch an episode when I get back, although I also want to go through more papers.

I did watch the first episode of Tales, and it's good (though I wonder how the younger generation can afford to live in San Francisco). I'm going to ration the episodes. The title line is from the episode.

I took my nighttime meds, and I'm going to work on sorting papers until I feel tired.
