Slowing Down

Feb 14, 2018 00:23

I stayed up late last night watching a video stream of ice skating. Glad that I watched it though. Still woke up to my alarm. Zara was being snuggly this morning.

Still ouchy. Damn. The ice has melted though. I didn't need to get the salt. Oh well. (I'm keeping it in my car because it isn't the kind that's safe for pets.)

An audiobook that I've been listening to recommends doing things as slowly as possible, and the author said that you will find that you're actually doing things faster. I've been trying to do that when I remember to. I don't know if I was doing things faster, but I was more accurate the first time, which I suppose would make things faster. Interesting.

I got another prescription for Zara to replace the one that's missing. Because I'm paying for it rather than insurance paying for it, they had no problem with me filling it early.

It's hard to believe that I'll be going to Austin in 2.5 weeks. Yikes. But because I'm not presenting there, all I need to do is get my carcass on a plane and to my hotel (and, of course, to the conference center). I'm looking for cheap things to do during the evenings. And cheap places to eat. I was there once before, but I was looking at Austin as a place to live, so I didn't do a lot of touristy stuff. Hmm, I should find my LJ entries from that trip. x-posted from Dreamwidth
