I ordered the gardening books that I wanted. A little pricey, but I also ordered a “stud finder”. Oh, and I ordered a home repair book. And a label maker.
Man, that earthquake in Taiwan was brutal. I feel for them.
I’m pleased at how well the cats are settling in. Zara knows to come upstairs to let me know that she’s hungry. Mimi has staked out the guest room as her spot, although they both enjoy the window to the back yard. I thought that they would like to look out the front window, so I put a rocking chair with cushions on it in the front window. Being cats, they totally ignore it :) I think that the birds in the trees out the back window are the draw.
It’s a sleepy, gloomy morning. Mimi is snoozing on the guest room futon. I'm jealous.
Drat. I make too much money to qualify for a home energy audit from the electric company. They have a program in which you get a discount for insulation though. There also are rebates on energy-efficient appliances.
I ordered the quote magnets that I wanted. One of them says something like, "When it looks like everything is falling apart, things are falling into place". That's true of the house.
I saw a mug on Facebook that I like. It says "Like father, like daughter...Oh crap." I'd have to bring it to Nevada though. I suppose that I could get it and send a picture of it.
My one meeting today went well.
And it's raining. I should run errands today or tomorrow so that I'll have Friday evening free to rake. (I hope that things will dry out by then.) I need to submit a grocery order, but I could have it delivered late. I have a study session from 7:30 - 8:30 PM. I also have library books to pick up. But I have a lot of recycling to put out for pickup, so maybe I should go tomorrow. I think that I'll take the library books with me to Michigan. (They're all garden design books.)
Woke up from my nap during lunch feeling ice cold.
The house has swallowed up some cat dishes, so I ordered more. (What do they do with them?)
I placed a grocery delivery order for tonight.
Oh hot damn! Early bird registration at the Urbana Park District is happening now, and I enrolled in Yoga and Tai Chi for the summer! I need to make a space upstairs for a yoga and tai chi studio. A standing mirror would help.
I ordered the "Paris is always a good idea" poster to go at the foot of the stairs upstairs. I think that I'll just order one poster at a time.
I filled out my petition to extend my studies for the programming certificate into the fall. We'll see what happens.
I looked at used Kitchen Aid mixers, but I don’t really need one right now. Maybe when I’m more settled.
Got the recycling out. I need to haul the bins to the street and put boxes out there, but I’ll do that after my study session. Wow. Our study session was three-and-a-half hours. Very helpful. I want to study more, but my brain is fried, so I'm going to go to sleep and get up early. And I didn't get the bins out, but I'll get them in the morning. I also need to figure out how to set my cell phone up for proctoring my test.
Note to self: Tulip poplar trees are pretty and safe for dogs and cats.
