I did stay up to midnight last night. I was in bed, when I realized that it was time for the countdown, so I watched it and then turned off the light.
Washed part of the kitchen floor. Abrupt change of plans: the people are coming to get the dryer at 3:30, so I need to pack some towels and clothes near the dryer before continuing with the kitchen (done). Now I know how to get my floors squeaky clean. Sweep (sometimes twice in high-litter areas), scrub the floor on my hands and knees with floor cleaner, mix bleach and water and mop the floor, let it sit for 10 minutes, and mop with just water. The floor looks fantastic, but oh, it's a lot of work.
I've been so busy that I forgot to eat lunch.
Okay, some guys picked up the dryer.
Mostly cleared off my bed and dresser. I'm not going to close my suitcase, which is on the bed, until the morning.
I'm worried about my dad. I sent him an email, and he didn't respond, which is unusual. I wondered if they had a power failure in his town in Western Nevada, and sure enough, they had a big outage. They said that it might not get completely fixed until Tuesday, which is a long time during the winter. (Heavy snow caused the outage.) There is a warming center in his town, but I don't know how hard it would be to get there.
I found a
dining table that is water- and heat- resistant and
dining chairs with washable covers. Pricey, but if it would last a long time, it would be worth it.
I'm about to scrub the home office floor, so I decided to post first. I should get some sleep tonight. but not a full night's sleep.
