I have one thing to say: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Today is the day that I have work and class, my long day. Mom asked me when I could help her. I told her that I had a meeting in the morning and class in the afternoon. Then I told her that I'd skip the meeting (which was a training class) in the morning. I thought that she needed me to move boxes so that she could get to stuff. She mentioned that she wanted some tchotchkes brought downstairs and also some photo albums. I thought that there was no rush on that.
Wrong. At the end of my lunch, she asked me when I was going to move the stuff, and I said that I needed to go to class and I'd do it afterward. She freaked out, and said that we weren't going to get stuff done before we'd have to leave on Saturday. I told her that I'd ask to take tomorrow off. (My boss said yes.)
Mind you, I told her that I would have work and class before I came here, but that doesn't seem to matter when she's stressed out.
I did move the stuff after my classes. After dinner, she wanted more stuff moved. I asked her what stuff, and she said that she'd have to go upstairs to show me and she was tired now and would have liked to tell me earlier. She did go upstairs and showed me and I moved the stuff. (This whole time, I almost fell down the stairs twice and my wobbly knee hurt.) Then she sorted out some books that she wanted, and I went to the garage to look for the James Dean book that she wanted, which was in a pile of book boxes to go to Half-Price books. I found it, which made Mom happy.
She said that she talked to her friend Lotus, who wasn't interested in coming here to help out and told Mom that she'd have to decide how much time she was going to spend on going through stuff at my aunt's house. Mom said that she'll need to get movers to bring stuff down, and I told her that I was talking to movers about the entertainment center.
And Mom vented a lot, which seemed to make her feel marginally better. She seemed in better spirits than she was earlier. I have heartburn. I did get some homework done though.
Oh, and RIP Queen Elizabeth. I've been taking sneak peeks at the news all day after someone said that she was dying on LJ.
aargh,
