Damn Cat!

Now I know where I really would like to live in Italy: Ravello. It has a classical music festival and gardens and a jaw-dropping view of the sea. It's not cheap though. It's where Gore Vidal lived. I probably could afford a three-room flat :) I found a vacation rental for $75 a night there though with a magnificent view.

It's like a ghost town at work. Many people are taking today off.

Zara was pawing at the blinds so I opened them. She's still looking out the window. I don't see what's so interesting, but I'm not a cat.

Zara had her paws on my arm, and I tried to get my arm back because I was working, and she hissed, scratched, and bit me. Luckily the bite was through thick clothes, so that was okay, but I have a scratch that's bleeding like crazy. I fed Mimi and her to calm her down. She promptly jumped on my lap after she ate, and I was like, "Um, Zara, I'm not very happy with you right now." But there she stayed. Sheesh.

I called Mom to calm ME down. She's doing okay, but she still hates the food, and they're giving her a protein drink to provide more nutrition. She thinks I should stay home on the day that she gets out of rehab, and she'll have a friend drive her home. I'm supposed to meet her outside with a walker. She wants to go out to lunch with her friend and me, but we'll see how she feels.

Shopped until I dropped. Got ingredients to make my turkey-and-stuffing casserole tomorrow. And lots of cat food and litter. And a Thermos. I realized on my way home that I should get more windshield wiper fluid, so I'll get some on the weekend and top it off.

I've put the groceries away. The turkey breasts are thawing in the refrigerator, but I need to put then in a water bath before I go to sleep. They're small, so they should thaw quickly. Oh, you have to keep changing the water. I'll thaw them in the microwave.

I'm telling Zara that she's A Noying today.

Had a bite to eat. I'm going to go to sleep now and pick things up in the morning.
