I finished my breakfast and asked the girls if they were hungry. Mimi went "Ack," and Zara started running around and jumping on and off things. I'll take that as a "Yes". Now they're fed. I've been feeding Zara more food than Mimi because Zara's too thin and Mimi's too fat, but Zara doesn't look like she's gained weight yet. She might be burning it off in nervous energy.
Bars and restaurants in Illinois have been closed for dining in as of Monday. Pick up or delivery is okay.
There's a COVID-19 case in Champaign County (about a hour from here).
Had a nice nap and a bite to eat. I just realized that I forgot to put clothes in the dryer this morning, so that's my next task.
My goofy cat Zara likes lemon pound cake. I had a piece self-destruct, and she hoovered up the crumbs.
Went to Wal-Mart. Oy. They were more cleaned out than Aldi was.
The things that were left tended to be organic and expensive. The only bread that I could find was a fancy organic loaf with seeds that cost $4! It will make good grilled cheese with the cheese that I bought though. I bought a can of organic tomato soup. I bought an expensive tortellini dish to try. I couldn't find any chicken breasts for chicken salad, neither fresh nor frozen. I did get a box of pączki (Polish donuts) off of the sale rack. They did have lots of cat litter and cat food, although I don't need cat food until the end of the month. I guess that I need to hit up Aldi and IGA.
Talked to a woman looking for bread and pointed her to the empty aisle. Showed her my Very Expensive Loaf™. She was blaming the media and the Democrats for the run on groceries. Apparently I had a look on my face when she said "Democrats," and she apologized. I was thinking on the way home though, don't we have some responsibility for our reactions to the virus?
Ate. The tortellini was "meh". Zara pawed at the pączki and broke the plastic on the box. I rescued them and put them into the refrigerator.
I applied for a temporary job with the Census online.
Now I'm planning to do some tidying up and then go to bed.
