Last Day of Vacation
I'm experimenting with shutting Mimi out of the bedroom at night. I want Zara to have the chance to sleep in peace. I'm also hoping that Zara will snuggle with me, although she's sleeping in the bathroom right now. The experiment seems to have been a success. Zara looks like she had a good sleep, and Mimi doesn't seem too bent out of shape.
I had a taste for oatmeal, so I bought some yesterday and had some this morning. It was good, and it's good for me. I'm wondering how to replicate apples-and-cinnamon oatmeal if I buy plain oatmeal. Hmm, it just occurred to me that I could add vanilla and cinnamon. The oatmeal kept me full for a long time too.
Now Zara is on my lap. No, she got off.
I'm about to take a nap. I shut the bedroom door again because I want Zara to have some low-stress time, the better to deal with Mimi when she has to. Mimi is not happy, but she went away.
Had a good nap. Checked the weather, and it looks like I'll be able to run after eating and throwing myself together. Yay. No, it's raining. Sigh. It's not raining hard, but I need to take the cell phone with me to give me instructions. I guess that I will get myself together in case that it stops. Fiddled with the cell phone armband, and I'm going to have to wear it on my lower arm. That's okay.
I'm looking at dogs again, but I can't have one until Zara passes on after I hope a long, long time.
Emptied the dishwasher. Did dishes. Started laundry. Soaked a litter box. Started another load of laundry. Now Mimi is happily ensconced on my lap, blocking the path of progress.
Still drizzling. Maybe learning to run in the late Fall wasn't the smartest plan.
Talked to Mom. She' s looking forward to getting together at Christmas, but we both have a lot to get done before then.
I think that I'll go to sleep and get up early and clean.
