Food Coma

Nov 29, 2019 00:00

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US! I woke up at 8:30 AM, decided that was too early to get up on a holiday, and then woke up around 11. Spent some time with Mimi on my lap.

I have an ethical dilemma. I'm out of bread, and Walmart is open, but I don't like that Walmart is making their employees work today. They aren't even getting holiday pay! So I should wait until tomorrow.

Oy. Kitty Drama. The cats are not thankful. Zara came into the kitchen, figuring that I was close to feeding them, and Mimi started picking on her. I broke up the squabble and hastily fed them, figuring that they'd settle down with a full stomach.

The Vivosport told me that I was very relaxed before the Kitty Drama. Now it's telling me that I'm more stressed out. That might even be accurate.

The Vivosport also functions as a watch. It's nice to have a watch rather than relying on my phone for the time.

Zara has two speeds. Manic (which she is right now) and off. Well, no, she's settling on my lap. Sweetie pie. I want to go take a nap, but Zara is happily settled on my lap. She finally got off, and I got up.

There is a big honking snow, ice, and rain storm to the SW of us, but Weather.com still says no precipitation here. It's saying that it's a bad running day though. Need to keep an eye out.

Had a nice nap.

The weather forecasters are saying rain/wintry mix, so no running today. It looks like we got sleet earlier. I guess that I'll stay home and cozy tonight.

Zara is a goof. She needs to walk away from her food dish to decide whether she's still hungry or not. She was eating dry food on top of the freezer, and she kept on walking over to the kitchen table, deciding that she was still hungry, and going back and eating some more. She made that circuit four or five times. Then she settled on my lap while I was reading a magazine.

It seems wrong to watch The Crown on Thanksgiving, but I'm going to do so anyway. I have to bake the turkey breast tenderloins before making the casserole, so I'll watch while it's baking.

I baked the turkey breast, watched another episode of The Crown while it cooled, and now I have the Turkey-and-Stuffing Casserole in the oven. I don't normally use the dishwasher, but I'm running it now to clean all the dishes that I used making the casserole. Gave the girls a little turkey, but they didn't want it. Fed them wet food.

The casserole was....okay. I liked it better the last time that I had it. I have a ton of leftovers, so I'm going to freeze some of it tomorrow. I had some pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and it was great. I think that I'm going to watch one more episode of The Crown and call it a night.

Food coma just hit. No more TV; I'm just going to bed.
