You know that life has really changed when you enter a hospital(as a caregiver, not as a casual visitor) you are issued a laptop for your communication needs. I suppose the staff was just tired of fighting people who needed their commuter "for just a moment" so they could check their e-mail.
So I am at St. Joe's in Pontiac. It is amazing how many days and nights I have spent here on various watches. Tonight I am here with my mom, whose alzeihemers has turned just a little violent. I guess it is a phase that they go through. She is in restraints. These have bothered her alot of course. Who wouldn't they bother? Sometimes, she naps and then she wakes up screaming for my daddy, "Harold. Harold. Harold." I am afeared it is going to be a very long night. I really not expect to get any sleep. I would be quite content if I could get neopets on this commuter but they have it blocked as a site that does not meet the purpose of their system. So be it.
It also won't let me check my friend's status on LJ. Too much like social networking I guess. But I can post to my journal so expect several long posts as I attempt to get through the night.
As always here, I am so impressed with the staff. They are so kind. I am always reminded of the old (okay new Hymn) that we use to sing in Frankenmuth "Surely, the presence of the Lord is in this place." I can just feel it as I walk through the corridors.
