The first draft of the placement list came out this afternoon. We're listed under Jeju, so it looks like we're not moving. For now. The first draft is ALWAYS subject to major changes and revisions, but at least the AO doesn't have any plans to move us, as yet.
I love my home here. Last weekend I took off the sliding wooden doors in the living room and transferred them to Carly's room, so she FINALLY has a door separating her room from the kitchen. The work involved a lot of heaving lifting and ripping up some boards from the floor and removing nails and stuff, and I did it ALL without any help from Todd, which makes me prouder than I can say. It looks great, too. Our living room looks much bigger now and more open, and Carly finally has a little privacy. Not that she needs it; it's not like she's changing in there on her own, but at night we can close the door and still walk around without tiptoeing. In the morning I can get up at 5 and go to the bathroom, and the noise doesn't wake her up. At lunch I can put her to bed in her own room, instead of ours, and Todd and I can still make lunch in the kitchen. It's great. I've been wanting to move those doors forever.
Carly got her first bikini last weekend! It's red and white and looks SOOO cute. We have a 3-day weekend coming up and plan to take her Ham-duk beach on Saturday with the church members.
It seems Todd and I have finally come to an agreement about where to house his parents when they come to visit at the end of the month. They'll stay in Carly's room, and we'll move her crib and changing table into our room. Our room is the biggest one in the house, so there's room for her in there. And this way his parents will have some privacy and we'll still be able to use the living room without stepping on their luggage. Todd was resistant to the idea of Carly sleeping with us, even if just for 10 days, but I think the idea of being able to use the computer late at night finally won him over.
And now it appears that we'll actually still be HERE when they come. Yippee.
