OH WEST WING. YOU KEEP GIVING ME THINGS THAT I WANT AND YET STILL HURTING MY SOULLLLLLLLLLLL. And the pilot episode! You're rerunning the pilot next week! *pets you*
Of course after listening to Steven Moffat it makes sense, but hey, shouldn't it make sense BEFORE we hear from him?
Wait! Please explain! Or is it worth listening to? I stopped listening to the podcast things after 'Tooth & Claw' because with Russel T they're just... not funny.
Totally forgot the whole Rose-brain-compatibility thing.
Also, what is Deep Space 10 doing being called "SS Madame de Pompadour"? Like, EH??? I think she's a great historical figure, I really do, but shouldn't you be naming theaters after her rather than a largely ugly and utilitarian space station?
I don't actually remember much from the commentary since it was, like, 3AM and my brain was in overload from new episode + Confidential + that. Mainly it was for the whole effect and because of that point at the end when the Doctor is swinging around to the ship for the last time and Reinette goes "Wait!" and the Doctor gets sad? Apparently that's the "moment" when he realizes he's in "love." I DON'T BUY IT but whatev.
BUT SRSLY RE: SHIP NAME. Honestly, it would have been way cooler if it was "SS Torchwood."

I'm torn! Because I did buy it, which doesn't help because I didn't like it and it just made me vexed at him and the show. And I know the episode order always gets tossed around hacky-sack style, but this whole two-girlfriends-in-a-row thing: not good.
And the ship name. SERIOUSLY. I think "SS Torchwood" would have kicked SO much ass.
I guess my not buying it has to do with my not ever buying "I have known you for one episode ergo we are in love." I don't know, I know that it's SOME KIND OF FEELING but it always feels wrong to call that Love (OH KARA AND ANDERS).
But YEAH, his whole one-episode love affair might just have been plausible if he didn't spend all last week driving home how hard it is to love someone who's going to die way sooner than you will. (ON THE OTHER HAND, because I can totally understand why Rose would feel really left out having been told that and then seeing THIS.)
Kara/"Samuel" HAHAHA. INDEED. I kind of hate BSG, but we'll pick that up again when season 3 and the FRIGGIN PREQUEL rolls along.
(ON THE OTHER HAND, because I can totally understand why Rose would feel really left out having been told that and then seeing THIS.)
I just hope there's some kind of continuity. I just want it picked up again, and not just as a buzzword mention like Torchwood or Rose's TARDIS brain, but with actual follow-up! Sigh.
I feel all weird, because the stuff making folk dislike Ten is the stuff that makes me love him way more than I loved Nine. The running-order thing feels weird, but is probably to get us to the Soppy Adorable Reconcilliation that's bound to happen. I just --
*flail* I love it. It's like the Doctor's actually the Doctor again, for me. He does stupid things and gets his hubris on, but that makes me want to slap him so much less than his creepy jealousy did and his belief that Rose is the only person in the universe who matters.
It's not just Ten. I'm actually starting to find Rose annoying. I think it's... you know, I really enjoyed series one best when it had Nine/Rose as friends (because really, I only want my RST in fanfic) exploring time & space
( ... )
