OH WEST WING. YOU KEEP GIVING ME THINGS THAT I WANT AND YET STILL HURTING MY SOULLLLLLLLLLLL. And the pilot episode! You're rerunning the pilot next week! *pets you*
But anyway.
Doctor Who: Girl in the Fireplace
I'm left vaguely flailing around and wanting to know exactly what the hell just happened. The ship of Clockpeople... wanted Reinette's brain because... she is pyshic... but also the ship is named after her. Um. Uh. What? Like, I could totally get behind "they want her brain because it's special for this particular reason" or "they want her brain because the ship is named after her and they're machine so they made the logical deductive choice" because HEY I WATCH SCIFI I CAN BUY CHEESY REASONING LIKE THIS. (This wasn't even like the crappy science of "New Earth," because the only handwaving involved in that was logistical, not basic plot logic type stuff. Unless someone can explain either of these.)
Consequently, I found a lot of the answers to my questions in the commentary and the Confidential episode, namely what in the hell truly prompted the Doctor's sudden "oh i love you i dun strand myself in Versaille because u is awesome." Of course after listening to Steven Moffat it makes sense, but hey, shouldn't it make sense BEFORE we hear from him? So thus I am left feeling that the episode didn't really work. I don't like having fundamental questions.
NOT ONLY THAT. But, seriously, when are we going to talk about the fact that Rose had the whole of timespace in her brain for a while there? When that Clockpersonguy had them all tied up (pre-not-hungover-Doctor intrusion, of course) and he scans her and says "This one is compatible"... UM HELLO TOTALLY THINKING ABOUT THE TIME VORTEX TARDIS THING. Especially since Reinette demonstrated her extraordinary ability to read the Doctor's mind, too. MAYBE THEIR COMPATIBILITY IS ONE AND THE SAME. Seriously now. I say this, like, every single week now but... DO YOU THINK THAT ROSE EVEN KNOWS. EGADS.
Um, also, someone plz write Doctor/Cleopatra. Or maybe I will, since I just finished an entire class this semester on her.
