I'm not even paranoid per se, I'm more upset that the f-lock is no longer sacrosanct. I'M CHOOSING TO ONLY ALLOW THESE 5 PEOPLE TO READ THIS ENTRY FOR A REASON, LIVEJOURNAL. EVERYONE BEING ABLE TO READ THE COMMENTS ESSENTIALLY INVALIDATES THAT CHOICE.
Oh man, I fucking hate this shit. It's not even a fanfic/fandom thing, my parents, brothers and Al and everybody important know about my ~*online life*~ but Facebook and Twitter are actually PARTS OF MY ACTUAL JOB, I don't need any bleed there! But thank you for assuming, livejournal. And I'm not the kind of person that's going to upkeep two Twitters or two Facebooks. uggggh
It's the fact that it'll let you do it regardless of f-lock level is what finally got to me. I have a very nonchalant attitude toward the stuff I put on the Internet in a public way - my FB profile picture, fic, that sort of thing - honestly, I don't really care when it comes to those things. But hey, Livejournal, I lock down certain portions of this journal FOR A REASON - I've decided not to blast my life to the entire Internet but instead of a select group of individuals FOR A REASON. I did not just accidentally fall into something while pushing that "Custom Groups" button!
Livejournal's singular saving grace is that it doesn't force you to be ALL PUBLIC or ALL PRIVATE; it lets you be both. SO stop eating away at your own remaining awesome feature, Soviet Mothership!
