Well, after seeing Sarah, Lizzie and Aunty Kathy off at the airport today, and giving my hair the most serious shortening it's had in years (it's back up to around shoulder length now), I got a shock in the mail.
I had a parcel sitting there with my name on it. (well, there was actually 2 with my name on it, but the other one wasn't quite as good)
It was a medal. Saying that my entry in to the Australiana themed art competition at Write4Fun.net had been placed in 3rd place.
I very nearly choked myself to death. As a rule, I don't win things. Not even as a runner up or any sort of placing/honourable mention. This is waaaaaay out of the norm.
I find it rather amusing that I placed third in an art competition when I cannot draw to save myself, nor paint. Thank God for the awesome day that we took a drive down the Murray. Thank God they were letting photography in.

And my 1sentence entry on Wedge Antilles and Iella Wessiri-Antilles (Star Wars), called Corellian Duet, is on the Nomination list for Best Canon in the upcoming Beyond the Saga fanfic award at TF.N.
