“Mr. Schue, I got you somebody for auditions,” Mercedes caroled from the doorway. “C’mon,” she hissed, and dragged in her new boyfriend Shane by the arm.
“Um. Hi.” He waved tentatively. “Baby wants me to sing f’y’all.” He handed sheet music to the pianist, and Will Schuester wondered what he’d do with him, based on his high, raspy speaking voice.
The piano chimed a few opening notes, and Shane began.
“You’ll never find…” he sang in a deep growly bass, eyes fixed on Mercedes. “…another love like mine…”
Will and the club cheered the last notes. “Dude. You’re so in.”
