King Laufey’s words rang in Loki’s brain and froze it solid. Was the frost giants’ king looking at him when he spoke them? Did he know? Could he know?
So he’d let a few hotheaded frost giants into Asgard. It hadn’t been a betrayal, not exactly - just a wee prank to steal his brother’s thunder. He hadn’t meant anything to come of it really. Indeed nothing had really. If he could just get Thor to back down, it’d all be over. No harm done.
And he could forget ever hearing those words.
