David Bowie Passes Away at 69.....
I hoped it was still a hoax even as THR confirmed it because another journalist said it was a hoax but in the time I read Sky, Bowie's son Duncan confirmed it on his twitter. He released his final (final...dammit) cd 3 days ago. There were already plans to hold a tribute concert for him at Carnegie Hall on March 31st.
David Bowie has died after a battle with cancer, his representative confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief," read a statement posted on the artist's official social media accounts.

~I'm feeling his loss so deeply right now because when his latest was released ("Blackstar") I fell into a Youtube hole watching the videos from "Blackstar" and from his career--ever iteration from the Thin White Duke, Ziggy Stardust,
80s great and enthusiastic collaborator with Trent Reznor, TV on the Radio and even Al B. Sure. I was even going to do a post on how his music was used in films like the scene from Ben Stiller's "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", "A Knight's Tale" and "Bad Blood".
As someone who grew up with cable I remember him equally as an actor. "Merry Christmas Mister Lawrence" was always on cable. I didn't love him as an actor until "The Linguini Incident".
I remember an interview profile he gave years ago and he said that he was very inquisitive and that his last words would be, "but...!" I think in with "Blackstar" he was still searching and exploring. A great legacy as an artist.
~Bowie's ex-wife who has been trading on his name forever is currently on Celebrity Big Brother UK so viewers are wondering if the producers will tell her off-camera or on-camera. I have a feeling whether they do it on or off she will milk it for all it's worth.
But I rather leave that negative thought behind and remember Bowie as he was.
