I'd be more upset about Jon's death if
a) Melissandre with all of her witchy woo hadn't shown up to the Wall which includes restoring life
b) If the show hadn't spent the past five seasons killing characters.
Someone needs to change this from "Hannibal"s Will Graham to Jon.

All characters are not created equally, yes, but even if Jon Snow is dead (or the Jon Snow that we love is dead), he's just another victim to the story like a lot of other good characters. They killed Ned Stark! How can I not be accustomed to good characters dying. They killed off Atticus Finch in furs in the ninth episode of the first season. It's like that Faith No More/Boo Yah Tribe song, "Another Body Murdered". Give me all the death you got, D&D!! just don't kill Jorah because I may never recover from not seeing his perfectly weathered face and hearing his velvet lined voice.
Besides Iain Glen has to work. He has a 17-year old, a five-year old and a two-year old to support.

So in the books Jon is not yet dead. Apparently he was stabbed but it was left open ended if he survived. D&D have yet to say that Jon is dead or will be dead in the books (Shireen is alive in the books but they say George R.R Martin plans to kill her hence Shireen dying on the show).
*Good on Sam training to become a master. Nice moment where Jon is trying to warn him that the maesters won't let him have sex. Boy doesn't know Oberyn trained to be a maester and you know you he was still screwing.

Stannis is Stannis so he trooped on knowing he would die. And why not march on he did the worst; devastated his family (amazingly many of his men frowned on burning a kid at a stake. Weird.) What else is there to live for. I'm glad he took his death bravely with no apologies.

I think Varys just stayed away so that Tyrion could do the hardwork in gaining Dany's trust, lay all the groundwork and then swoop in as Tyrion's pal. I trust him a bit more than Grey Worm right about now.
